Useful for sequelae of apoplexy manifested by hemiplegia, deviation of the eye and mouth, intricate and obscure speech, involuntary drooling, atrophy and disability of lower limbs, frequent urination or involuntary enuresis, deep-red tongue with thin whitish. The classical prescription "Bu Yang Huan Wan Tang" (Decoction Invigorating Yang for Recuperation) in TCM is primarily used to supplement qi, activate the blood and unblock collateral meridians for treating hemiplegia of sequelae of apoplexy. It is regarded as the typical formula for treating hemiplegia due to qi deficiency, and blockage of blood stasis in meridians and collaterals, applicable to epilepsy stemming from cerebrovascular dysfunction pertaining to deficiency of qi and blood stasis in the meridians.

Actions: Invigorating qi, promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis from the meridians.
Indications: It is indicated for sequelae of apoplexy, marked by hemiplegia, deviation of the eye and mouth, intricate and obscure speech, involuntary drooling, atrophy and disability of lower limbs, frequent urination or involuntary enuresis, deep-red tongue with thin whitish fur, and slow pulse. It is applicable to hemiplegia, paraplegia, and atrophy of the upper or lower limbs from sequelae of cerebrovascular accident or other reasons, which pertain to blood stasis due to qi deficiency.*
Directions: As a dietary supplement, take 3 capsules each time, two times daily.

用法用量:口服,一次3 粒,一日2次。

补阳还五汤方出自王清任所著《医林改错》,由黄芪、当归尾、赤芍、地龙、川芎、桃仁、红花组成,方中重用黄芪四两为主药。原方用于治疗半身不遂,口眼歪斜, 语言謇涩,口角流涎,大便干燥,小便频数,遗尿不禁等脑血管意外所致后遗症。此方问世后,历代医家运用其治疗广大的脑血管意外后遗症患者,收到了显著的效 果,提高了患者生活与生存质量,降低了致残率。近代医家逐渐扩大该方的使用范围,同样收到显著的疗效。
实验研究补阳还五汤
(1)对血液流变学的影响
中风患者血液处于"粘、浓、凝、聚"的倾向,运用本方后,能增加血小板内环磷酸腺甙的含量,抑制血小板聚集和释放反应,抑制和溶解血栓,以改善微循环,促进侧枝循环。
(2)对心、脑血管系统的药理作用
补阳还五汤静脉注射,有缓慢、持久的降压作用,对麻醉家兔能显著地增强心肌收缩幅度,反映心肌耗氧量的心肌张力时间指数显著降低,心肌营养性血流量明显增加。
(3)对免疫功能的影响
补阳还五汤能使免疫功能低下小鼠的免疫器官重量增加,提高单核巨噬细胞吞噬功能,从而表明本方具有增强机体免疫功能的药理学基础。
临床使用
常用于中风后的治疗。以半身不遂,口眼歪斜,苔白脉缓或脉细无力为证治要点。
常用于脑血管意外后遗症,以及其他原因引起的偏瘫、截瘫,或上肢或下肢痿软属气虚血瘀者。
临床上使用补阳还五汤加减治疗癃闭(前列腺肥大)、五十肩(肩关节周围炎)、顽固性半身出汗等症,有良好的疗效。
临床上使用补阳还五汤治疗足跟痛、老年性皮肤瘙痒症、椎—基底动脉供血不足等疾病,有良好的疗效。
