One year after the implementation of the China-Kazakhstan mutual visa exemption agreement, personnel exchanges increased by 129.18% over the same period

November 10, 2024, was the first anniversary of the implementation of the China-Kazakhstan mutual visa exemption agreement. Over the past year, personnel exchanges between the two countries have grown rapidly, and Xinjiang ports have been busy.

Chinese and Kazakh citizens are allowed to stay in each other's country for no more than 30 days for single crossing and stay 90 days as part of a 180-day visa-free period, according to the visa-free agreement.

Since the "Agreement on Mutual Visa Exemption between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan" officially came into effect on November 10, 2023, the citizens of China and Kazakhstan have further deepened their business activities and tourism, and the flow of people entering and leaving the country has increased significantly.

According to statistics from the Xinjiang Entry-Exit Border Inspection General Station, in the one year since the China-Kazakhstan mutual visa exemption policy came into effect, the number of people traveling between China and Kazakhstan through Xinjiang ports has reached more than 1.929 million, an increase of 129.18% over the same period of the previous year.
