for severe migrating or fixed pain in the joints and bones with stiffness and a reduced range of motion due to Wind Damp Cold blocking the channels; chronic weakness, numbness, and pain of the extremities, due to Wind Phlegm blockage with Blood stagnation in the channels (Wind Stroke); paralysis due to Wind stroke. The classical formula "Xiao Huo Luo Dan" (Pill for Activating Meridians, Mild Recipe) in TCM is primarily used for expelling wind and activating collaterals, removing dampness and alleviating pain, for wind-cold-dampness arthralgia, pain of limbs, numbness and muscular contracture.

Ingredients:
Turmeric (rhizome)
Frankincense (resin)
Myrrh (resin)

Actions: Invigorates the blood, warms and unblocks the channels, dispels wind and damp, and transforms phlegm.

Indications: It is indicated for arthralgia due to wind, cold and dampness, marked by contracture or pain of limbs, muscles and tendons, difficult movement of joints, migratory pain, aversion to cold and preference for warmth, pale tongue or purplish tongue, whitish fur, deep and thready pulse. It is applicable to rheumatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, hyperosteogeny, and others that are characterized by contracture and pain of limbs, preference for warmth and aversion to cold, pale tongue with whitish fur.

Applicable to dislocation of shoulder joint in the late stage; dislocation of metacarpophalangeal joint in the late stage; lateral humeral epocondylitis; injury of collateral ligament of knee joint; meniscus injury of knee joint; neck sprain and contusion.*

Directions: Take 6 pills each time, 2 times a day as a herbal supplement.
Do not use during pregnancy.

As this formula is very invigorating and pungent, it should only be used in patients with a strong constitution. Do not use in hypertensive patients. Do not use in cases where there is yin or blood deficiency.

小活络丹来源于《太平惠民和剂局方·卷一治诸风》。小活络丹是由乌头、地龙、乳香、没药、南星等药物组成，具有活血化瘀，舒筋消肿、行气止痛、祛风及破瘀生新等功能。常用于治疗风寒湿痹证所致四肢拘挛、筋骨疼痛及跌打损伤等症。

运用要点：1．本方药性温燥，适用于痹证偏于寒性者。以肢体筋脉挛痛，关节屈伸不利，舌淡紫苔白为证治要点。
2．风湿性关节炎、类风湿性关节炎及骨质增生症等属风湿血瘀者，均可用之。
